Angel Baby M

Baby McCoy was delivered out of my body and into this world on April 23, 2013 and that is also the day we'll forever remember as the day it went to be with Jesus.

On Monday, April 22, 2013, I went to my OBGYN appointment happily 11 weeks pregnant, or so I thought. The exam went great.  She was about to send me on my way and I asked if I was supposed to have an ultrasound.  The Doctor said I wasn't scheduled for that, but would have the tech squeeze me in.  The ultrasound tech began an ultrasound on my stomach, but couldn't really pick up anything.  She had to go the other route.  She asked if I was truly as far along as I thought. The confusion began setting in and she took me to another room where the Doctor met me.

My world was turned upside down in an instant.  The baby only measured 6 weeks and a few days and there was no heartbeat. It was gone.  She wanted to schedule me for a D&C immediately. I began bawling my eyes out and called David.  Luckily, he answered.  It was unfortunate that I had to tell him such horrible news about our first child.  My D&C was the following day.  I was at the hospital by noon and my procedure began at 3pm.

I'll have to finish more of this story later..... At the moment, I should be crawling into bed so I may rest good before the OKC Memorial Marathon tomorrow.  After struggling with the idea of still participating or not, I decided I needed to finish the mission I had planned to do a day shy of being 12 weeks pregnant.  Now I will be doing it in loving memory of our angel baby.

Here is a photo of me at 10 weeks in what I was planning to wear for the baby's first half marathon tomorrow which was also going to be the big reveal day when we shared our good news.

Tomorrow I'll be wearing this beautiful Remembrance Cross during the OKC half marathon (13.1 miles).  It has the birthstone of our angel baby.

Spring Break 2013

My First Pregnancy Journey

On March 11, I came home from school and needed a beer.  I'd had a couple of "clues" so I took a test just to be sure.  It came up positive.  I thought it must be a false positive, so I quickly chugged a whole bunch of water and took another test.  Well, my urine was so diluted that it didn't pick up anything.

Shortly after the test, I went and had some FroYo with my best friend.  We stopped at Walgreen's on the way and picked up two more tests.  I took them the following two mornings.  Both came up positive. It was a super busy week and I really didn't have time to process it all.  We were crazy excited, but needed some time to really take it all in.

Test #1 from Dollar Tree on the evening of Monday, March 11, 2013

Pulling up at Walgreen's to purchase more tests.

Test #2 taken the morning of Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Test #3 taken the morning of Wednesday, March 13, 2013

I finished out the week strong and with two performances.  It was crazy!!!  Friday at 3:50 I officially began Spring Break. Woohoo!

Yoga FINISHER

So much has changed since I last posted.  Where does the time go?

Since my last post, I successfully completed the 30-Day Challenge at my yoga studio.  It was one of the greatest things I've ever done.  Actually, I finished and KEPT GOING!  = )
