What's up.....

Here is what's up with us right now........

- Today was David's last day of his surgery rotation. Thank, God!
- Tomorrow David studies for his Surgery Shelf Exam.
- David takes the Shelf Exam on Friday.
- I get David all to myself for the entire weekend. We're gonna check out some events going on here in St. Louis and spend some time relaxing together. I'm super excited!
- David starts Pediatrics on Monday. Oh, geez! Please pray for him! ; )

I'm hoping to receive calls about sub jobs any day now. I've also been cruising the internet trying to find a job. There are a couple of possibilities. I'll send my resume out soon.

Ethan has been doing great. The boy eats like a champ! I recently introduced sweet potatoes to him and he's in love. They're now his favorite treats!

David and I finally had a date night tonight. It's been a really long time since we've had a date. Part of it was because I was out of town for so long. Plus, we can't seem to stretch these Med School loans far enough to pay for anything beyond our required living expenses.
Anyways, back to a more positive note..... We ordered Chinese take-out and watched several episodes of Big Bang Theory. If you haven't seen that show, please treat yourself. It's hilarious!!! Our dinner was amazing. I had some delicious egg drop soup, while David had steamed dumplings and chicken lo mein. Yum!!! We kept it reasonably cheap. It was less than 12 bucks and he even has leftovers. Oh, yeah!

Well, that's what we've been up to lately.

What have you been up to lately????

I'm back!

I returned home to STL late Sunday evening. My return flight was so much better than the flight getting out to OKC. I also met a wonderful lady and we talked the entire time. She's in the same boat I was in just a couple of years ago. Our conversation really brought back some memories. Her husband took a job in OKC and she's traveling back and forth until they can sell their house in STL. I suggested some restaurants and things to do in OK. There is definitely no comparison between OKC and STL when it comes to things to do, but I think she'll grow to like OKC. I did ask her what she thought of the people and she said that everyone has been so nice. That's what I like to hear! She is also a teacher, but doesn't currently have a teaching job since she's traveling between cities. I told her I took off my first year in STL to get settled, explore, and figure stuff out. She thought that was a good idea and is considering doing the same thing. We exchanged emails so I'll be talking to her again soon. We both believe we were meant to sit next to each other on that plane. Funny how things work out like that sometimes.

Back to my trip..... It was fabulous! I spent time with some friends and family. My best friend, Jordon, was already back home in Vermont, so I didn't get to see her this time. Since I didn't get to see her on my birthday, she left a gift for me with her parents. I got together with her mom (who is absolutely awesome!) while I was in town and she gave me the gifts from Jordon. She got me a Scentsy warmer and some scents. I've secretly been wanting one of those, but I couldn't justify spending the money. I was so shocked and excited! She really picked out a gorgeous one. It's black and white! I love it!!! I'll have to take some pics soon. Jordon also gave me some apple pomegranate bath stuff. It smells wonderful! I'm so thankful to have such a thoughtful best friend. Of course, I love Jordon to pieces whether there are gifts involved or not. I'm most thankful for our friendship!

I spent time with Shalah while I was in town too. I love that girl! We actually met through Jordon a few years back. We had a great time goofing around and catching up. Shalah is one of those people I want to take with me everywhere. She's an absolute sweetheart! Her husband, James, is pretty awesome and so are their daughters. Shalah is in nursing school right now and her schedule is about to get really crazy. I'm so glad we were able to get together.

I met up with a few other people and got even more gifts. I was completely surprised! Are my friends amazing or what?!?!?!!!

I talked to my favorite bro-in-law and we really wanted to get together, but his work schedule didn't work out in our favor this time. He's a military man and got called in for a secret job the evening we were going to get together. I completely understand, but I'm kinda sad. He was going to introduce me to his girlfriend that night. She's in college and majoring in elementary education. Chris thinks I'll really like her and I think so too. I guess I'll have to wait until Christmas.

I spent time with my parents on the weekends. I went shopping with my mom 2 Saturdays in a row. We are so dangerous together! Of course, I didn't have any money to spend, but she treated me to a few wonderful things. We both had pedicures. It was fantastic! I wish I could get them more often, but we can't stretch these Med School loans that far. lol! We shopped, shopped, and shopped until I basically dropped. It was exhausting, but worth every moment.
We talked about the rehearsal dinner that my parents are in charge of next June. We brainstormed about all sorts of ideas. I actually need to make some phone calls this week to get some price quotes and stuff. I love planning events!

I saw my brother and his fiance a few times while I was in town. That's always fun. I also received their "Save the date" magnet. It's pretty cute! One of the pics I took of them is on the magnet. I'll have to take a pic and post it on here soon.

Anyways, my trip was pretty action packed. There was rarely a dull moment. I did keep up with my workouts and good eating habits. That can be tricky on trips, but I did it! I had lots and lots of salads, sugar-free sno cones, and sugar-free popsicles. Yum!

School starts today, so I'm basically expecting phone calls to sub at any time. The teachers were told not to take off during the first week, but I'm ready either way.

I'm not finished yet, but I've been going through my clothes and getting rid of things that don't fit. I have clothes in several smaller sizes in the other closet and in storage bins under the bed. I've actually lost so much weight that I completely missed out on wearing some of my smaller sizes. I'm enjoying my new (but old) wardrobe!!! I do have plenty of clothes to get me by for now and for the next few months (I think), but I may be going to the thrift stores around Christmas time.

Does anyone know of a consignment store in STL that buys plus-size clothing? I seriously have thousands of dollars in clothes. I know I wouldn't get much, but any amount would help.

Anyways, that's what I've been up to lately. Hope all is well with all of you!
